Classes are based on traditional yoga poses that are infused with the Rainbow Kids Yoga techniques, which emphasise building community and making yoga fun! Lauren is a certified high-school and elementary teacher (OCT- 2014), who enjoys teaching kids yoga in schools around the GTA. She has over five years experience working with kids from kindergarten to grade twelve, is a 200hr registered yoga teacher (2017), as well as a Rainbow Kids certified teacher (2018). Her goal is to share her passion for yoga with all ages and engage you and your kids in meaningful movement that will increase and maintain overall health and wellness. We are pleased to be one of the few companies offering kids yoga in the West End of Toronto, located close to the Runnymede, Roncesvalles, Junction, High Park, Bloor West Village, Old Mill, Swan Sea, and Parkdale communities.
It is essential for kids to engage in healthy movement and kids yoga helps them to relax, stretch, and strengthen their muscles. In our summer camp and classes we use easy, fun, supportive and creative sequences to encourage your child to try the pose on their own first and then with a partner or in groups because yoga is more fun when we do it together! Partner and group work is not only fun but helps us practice our kindness and compassion towards one another.
Teens are be faced with some difficult topics and thoughts and trying to understand these on their own can be tough. During classes and summer camps we talk about mental health, self esteem, importance of breath and meditation, and how yoga can help manage some of the thoughts and feelings they are having. We also emphasise the transferable skills that yoga has for school, such as increases focus and concentration and an increases athletic performance.
